Nia creates a full-body workout that gets your heart pumping! And since working out should be FUN, you will never leave Nia without a smile on your face.

Nia is a fusion fitness practice that has a wonderful balance of both form and freedom. It integrates the conscious alignment and posturing of yoga then combines the expressiveness of the dance arts, the power and explosiveness of the martial arts and the wisdom of the healing arts.

In a Nia class you will find music, relaxation, imagery, pleasure, joy, ease, comfort, freedom, harmony and balance. Movements often transcend through nine different movement forms. Evolving from the slow dance of tai-chi into the precision of tae-kwon-do, Nia also utilizes the excitement, fun, and showmanship of jazz. It also incorporates the free spirit of Duncan dance and the creative play between the shapes, space and balance of modern dance.

Nia can be adapted to fit your personal needs and can be experienced by anyone, from stiff beginners to the most highly fit athletes. No prior experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome!!

Nia was created by Debbie and Carlos Rosas over 20 years ago. Each class is formatted in a completely unique way with a warm up, a cardiovascular component and floorplay. Nia’s barefoot grounded approach maximizes body efficiency and teaches you to consciously move in a more gentle way. The movements of Nia provide cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, muscle conditioning and definition, increased overall agility, balance and strength.

No classes or events are currently scheduled. Please call us at 484-368-2706 to express your interest and we will notify you about the next Nia event.

Erin’s Nia Mission

Nia has enriched my life in many ways! I love how each time I experience Nia I discover something new about myself.  In my first Nia class I knew instantly that I needed to incorporate it into my own life and share it with others.  I was struggling with my own frustrations with traditional fitness, longing for something that would keep me motivated, and actually feel good. As a Myofascial Release therapist I had been working one-on-one with clients to address there wellness goals but I was also looking for a vehicle to share my experience and knowledge about the body and passion about body awareness in a group setting.  In 2006 I was trained as a Nia instructor in New York City.

I am having so much fun incorporating this experience into my own life and adding it to the one on one experience I have every day in my private practice with therapeutic body work. Sharing the magic of Nia and witnessing the joy it brings to those that attend my classes has been a gift.  Nia supports what I am most passionate about sharing with others: The importance of Body awareness, community, and a safe sacred space for growth. I found what I was looking for in the Nia technique and I would love to share this refreshingly FUN and fulfilling experience with you.
